Who we are
The Tap Guide is an independently run site focused on UK tap buying advice, including our buying guides and top 10 category pages. We are the organisation responsible for any personal data collected through this site.
Information we collect
This site doesn't collect personal data through any form. Getting in touch means completing a short security check on our contact page to reveal our email address, then emailing us directly from your own email client, so nothing you write to us passes through or is stored by the site itself.
We don't use tracking cookies or analytics beyond basic server logs. Server logs record standard request information (IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps) and are retained for a limited period before being deleted automatically. Server logs help us keep the site secure and working correctly.
How we use your information
Because we don't collect anything through the site itself, there's nothing beyond server logs for us to use or share. If a data breach ever did affect information logged by this site, we'd notify the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and anyone affected, as required by UK law.
Third-party services
Amazon affiliate links. Some pages on this site link to Amazon. If you click through and make a purchase, Amazon may set cookies on their own site to track the referral and attribute any resulting commission to us. We don't set any affiliate tracking cookies on this site itself. Please refer to Amazon's privacy notice for details of how they handle this data. See our affiliate disclosure for more on how these links work.
Fonts. Fonts used on this site are self-hosted and served directly from The Tap Guide's servers. No requests are made to Google Fonts or any other external font service when you visit this site.
Cookies and local storage
This site doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies of its own. Amazon may separately set its own cookies once you click through to their site, as described above.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to restrict or object to how we process it. To make a request, get in touch via our contact page.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes to this policy, the updated version will be published on this page with a new “Last updated” date at the top.
